Hello All! I am currently studying for REG and I sit for it next week. I am so overwhelmed at this point of all the information that is out there and would appreciate if anyone could direct me into a more narrow area to focus on. Some people told me to focus on C-Corp tax and others are saying they had nothing on the subject matter... I heard the business law and ethics area was becoming more heavily tested on. Any advice?

I am also currently using Becker, which I heard Becker tends not to focus on the heavy areas. I spent three days alone studying on individual tax, and heard they don't really test you on that area. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!

There's so much they can test you on, I'm sure it varies
a lot from test to test. Becker said that the majority
of the exam is Tax, not law, so I focused my studies
there. Plus, I found all the law stuff very
straightforward, and pretty interesting, so most of that
stuck.

Here's what I did after finished R1-R8: I re-read Ch 1-4
entirely, and paid close attention to ch 3 as that area
had given me a bit of trouble. I reworked all the hw &
sims, and now I'm just reviewing all of my flashcards,
and doing progress tests. They break down your wrong
answers by chapter as you know, so if I had done poorly
in one chapter, I'd hit those notecards more and refer to
the text if necessary.

I found the first 'Final Exam' to be more difficult than
the progress tests, but my brain was kinda fried after 8
hours of studying beforehand. I was doing great on the
progress tests, and did terrible on the first 'Final
Exam.' That freaked me out a bit, but I just focused on
my weak spots, and I'm doing much better.

You have to keep working the problems, and then review
your exam, and understand why you got certain questions
wrong. If you're not sure, go back to the book and
reread that section if necessary.

Try not to freak out, take frequent breaks, and know
everyone is nervous about their exams! Best of luck!
