Hey Jumbo,

I think I read somewhere from one of the posts here saying that materials help; but it's all up to the person. I think 2006 Becker should be fine. You should also go to Becker website to download all the updates for AUD.

I would also recommend supplement the practice exams with either Wiley or Gliem. I have just passed my AUD in May. It was my second attempt, though. The first time I used Becker 2006 materials, book and software. I read the book and did the practice exams only once. I was trying to remember everything.

I did not use any books the second time. I gave my book away, and purchased Wiley AUD Review CD v.13 for $50. And, all I did for 3 weeks was doing the exams over and over. I spent an hour on my lunch break at work, and 2-3 hours before bed to do the exams. Weekends I spent 6-7 hours. The key for me was to understand questions and answers really well. I read all the explanations from Wiley (really). I didn't just remember the answers, but understood why each choice was correct and not correct.

When I went over the exams again the second and third time I could pretty much come up with the correct answer before I even looked at the choices. People think I was crazy because I would talk to myself outloud explaining why the answer was correct.

When I sat for the exam, I thought I failed because I thought the exam was too easy. You know how the exam is structured! It should get harder if you do well. All my three MCQs testlets were all equally easy. ANyway, when taking the actual exam, read each question and answer carefully. They are quite tricky. Use your commonsense and apply the knowledge. Sounds easy, doesn't it.

DIfferent people have different ways of attacking AUD. This system works for me. I am an IT person, changing field to accounting with no accounting or audit experience. So, if I could do it, I think everybody can. Find what work for you.

This site is a great resource for it. Thank you all for contributing.

Hi cacpawanabe,

Are there more questions on Wiely CD than book? I am using Becker 2007, and considering if I should buy Wiely book for reference. BTW, do you think Wiely simulation is close to real exam? Thanks a lot.
