Hello All,
So far, I have passed Aud (84) Far (83) and Reg (80), and today I took BEC which I am hoping is the last CPA exam I will have to take! I studied Becker MCQs + Final Exams exclusively for my preparation, occasionally glancing at the book for areas I didnt understand. Last night was dreadful-- I couldn't sleep all night, with thoguhts of spending variances and flexible budgets and crazed finance formulas rattling in my head. On top of that, when I finally slept at 5:30am my cat decided to crawl all over my face to wake me up to play with him. I was so tired in the morning I chugged a red bull, and ended up throwing it all up in the prometric bathroom 5 minutes before the test. I think the combination of nervousness & pressure of taking my last section + empty stomach + no sleep + redbull was a bad mixture.
Anyway, I pull myself together and got through the exam. Overall, I found the exam to be tough but Becker reasonably prepared me for it, and although I didn't know everything, I think I knew enough to get a 75 at least... For the most part, it is true what everyone says about BEC--- They throw a bunch of questions at you with terms and concepts that you have never heard of or prepared for... Generally, these aren't even the hard quantitative questions, but they are would-be simple questions had you only known wtf the question was about. My suggestion to everyone is to read through some of the glossaries to get an understanding of some of the terminology. The definitions combined with your common sense should improve your score by a few points.
Most of the hard calculative questions I found in Becker werent even on the exam, and the calculation questions were fairly simple. I think Becker did a good job preparing me for those types of questions.
Anyway---- if there is one thing I learned today, all of the tests are equally hard in their own way and no CPA section should be taken lightly. Some claim BEC is the easiest section, but look at all the people retaking it 2+ times. It didn't have SIMS or essays, which helped make the test less exhausting, but that just means the MCs are more heavilly weighted. Generally, I found that the SIMS and essays boosted my grade with FAR,REG,AUD because they were usually easy and I am a good essay writer.
I wish all of you the best luck on this exam, do not take it lightly and be sure to go over some of the terms that are not in the Becker review. Now I just gotta weight 1 1/2 months for my results (grrr). Peace out!

Sure you will find out you did really well on BEC as well.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, and now you
should go shopping and find the right suite for a
CPA. Good luck to all of us!

My exam is tomorrow. I took the day off work today to study. I am sitting here at home on a Friday night, in front of my computer, totally burnt out from studying.
I haven't taken a practice test yet, but I only did that it in the past for FAR & REG when I used Becker. It made me nervous and insecure going in to AUD not having done a practice test to gauge my preparedness, but I did ok in AUD. I am hoping Yaeger will come through for me with BEC. I feel like I don't know anything. Like, if you asked me what I've been studying the past month, I draw a blank. I'm sure it's a case of "you know more than you think you know" but it's very unsettling.
Ok, end rant. Back to the books!

Why in God's name are you studying the night before a test? Every provider I know says not to do that. As someone once told me, if you don't know it a few hours before the test, you aren't going to learn it. Give yourself a break man and get some rest.
