DSS helps you make a decision without making the actual decision or providing the final answer for you.  Human judgment in analyzing the output of the DSS and weighing any other relevant factors is needed to arrive at the final decision.  The computer solves the structured part of the problem, while a human uses judgment to solve the unstructured part of the problem.

In an expert system, the computer provides the answers.  The expert system can learn from expert humans.

Transaction Processing System processes routine, day-to-day transactions.  Contrast with analytical processing, which analyzes the data.  OLTP (online transaction processing) vs OLAP (online analytical processing).

Executive Info System provides information at a high level to senior executives to help them monitor business conditions and make decisions.
