Do the three WCs always involve writing a memo? Thats all I ever see in terms of practice questions. Is there any other form of written communication I should familiarize myself with?

Yes, it's always a memo.

The AICPA specifically states that the WC will involve writing a "

short passage, letter, or memo. "

So yes, basically a memo. Intro with thesis, 1-2 middle explanatory paragraphs and conclusion.
