I've been lurking around here for a couple of months and finally have a reason to post.  I am using Gleim Online which, IMO, is a good tool.  It doesn't give any acronyms to help remember things...I think I've seen some posted here...eliminating entries maybe?  If you know of any, please post here!  Thanks,

I think PUFE for Comprehensive Income is a really good one to remember.

Pension Liability Adjustment
Unrealized Gains / Losses for Avaliable for Sale securities
Foreign Exchange Transaction Gains / Losses
Effective Cash Flow Hedge

Another good one I easily remember is for governmental funds that require modified accrual.

"Da Gas Cap" - basically if you can think gasoline for government this will help you remember which funds have modified accrual as follows -

Debt Service Fund
a
General Fund
a
Special Revenue Fund
Capital Projects Fund
a
Permanent Fund

Wow, I like Da GaS CaP much more than what Becker gave and think I will use that.

I like it because it allows you to use the begning of the word and not some random middle word.

sources of GAAP:

BOSSII -

Bulletins, Opinions, Statements, Staff positions, Interpretations, Implementation Issues

Income Stmt:

IDEA -

Income continuing Ops, Discontinues Ops, Extra Ordinary, Accounting Principle Change

(all net of tax except for the first one)
