Ok, I finally finished the Becker book including all MCQ's.  For the most part Chapters 1-7 were not so bad, decent range in first time attempts (65-100% correct) BUT I am completely going blank on Chapters 8&9 Gov't & NFP's.  I have the mneumics down but for some reason scoring really low (40-60's) on the questions.  So, I would like to know from experience from taking FAR (as yes I know every exam is different) what I should really focus on in order to get at least 75% of the actual exam questions correct regarding Gov't.  I keep getting lost in the little details, and then go blank.

I have today thru May 5th to study 12+hrs a day since I took off of work.  I planned on going over the videos again but that takes a full day.

Suggestions on what helped you through this section would be appreciated, as this is my last section and I want to nail it down and never deal withthis again.

I think the largest thing to focus on are the reporting requirments, (B/S, I/S. cash flow) with their accurate names and then also which funds are where (gov, fid and prop fund types) and how they are treated (accrual, mod accrual and debits and credits for those accounts)

Honestly, if I had to only focus on those areas, those would be the areas I would focus...

my experience is they can ask anything, so it would be wrong to pin point certain areas. i had given this beast before and they can go into minor details of any topic. so i would say have familiarity with everything. i just dont want you to miss any points on exam. good luck.

I know the Becker book is already summarized and I have told people in the past that they should pretty much know everything in the book to make the most out of possible points.  I am just going to stick to my guns and spend three days on the last two chapters of Gov't and NFP's.  Hopefully most of it will stick.  Thanks for all replies....

The  one thing that works, for me at least, is doing as many MCQ's as possible on chapter 8 & 9. I did about 350 MCQ's from Gleim just on those two chapters. I feel confident to sit for FAR on 4/29.

I use Becker for everything else BUT MCQ's. Don't leave any aspect of those two chapters without fully understanding, very clearly, the 'Why's' of every 'What'.
