I'm in a similar situation, graduated in May, have not starting working yet.
I used Becker. I studied around 240 hours over 8 weeks. In the end, how much and how long you study depends on the individual. If you were a good accounting student and learned the material in college, you could easily get by with less.
I considered the "risk" of taking the exam and failing. No matter how much you study there will always be a chance that you will fail, BUT the more you study and more hours you put in, the smaller that risk becomes. It depends on how much risk you can tolerate.
