I am taking the exam in just under 2 weeks, and am reviewing in the meantime.

Just curious for FAR, what % of time you would recommend spending on practicing multiple choice vs. doing simulations vs. reading textbook material.

I review flashcards on my train to and from work and am using Becker.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't use Becker and can't comment on the program, but I've been studying MCQ's much more heavily.  They contain the meat of the material you need to get in your head.  But I also do a few simulations every week as they help arm you for other tricky ways the examiners can throw the material at you.

MCQ over and over and over again!  On the sims, I recommend you focus on the communication and research components.  Everything else on the sims will fall into place as a result of understanding the concepts underlying the MCQ.

Keep going over the notecards no matter how well you think you have them down.

At this point I would recommend concentrating on your weakest areas in the book and continue the MCQ over and over and over again.

I basically attended the lectures, then re-read each lecture, and after reading one lecture, I would do the MCQ's for that chapter untill I got them ALL RIGHT.

So time wise, I'd say almost 70-75% of your time should be on MCQs (more if you can). Reading maybe 20% and I honestly only worked on simulations the two days before I took the exam. You really do not have to read "in-depth" because it is humanly impossible to retain that volume of knowledge. The MCQ's though do a great job of reinforcing the topics you read and basically tell you what you need to know from the reading.

Simulations you should do mainly to know the nuances of a simulation and how all the tools work.  They also do a good job of reinforcing some of the more general topics, but there is almost a 99% chance the simulations you study will not be on the cpa exam, so try not to put too much stock into knowing the specific content. If you have a pretty decent grasp of your respective section, you shouldn't be "too" surprised with the content of your simulation (at least parts of it, there is a good chance there will be some stuff on your simulation you have no freakin clue on)

I agree, focus on the MCQs.  The potential SIM questions are so varied that I don't think you could ever come close to what you will see on the exam.  As long as you are familiar with how a SIM works you'll be fine.  One of my SIMS on FAR was so far out in left field that I thought it was a joke and I never would have studied it even if I had a year to review.
