If a sub sells inventory to a parent for a profit and then the parent sells the inventory to a third party for a profit, is the parent's profit based on the carrying value of the sub or the carrying value of the parent (which would be the price paid to the sub and would include the sub's profit)? And would the answer be the same if the facts were the same except that the parent sold the inventory to the sub for a profit and then the sub sold it to a third party for a profit? Thanks...
