I just totally learned the purchase method through an old Becker lecture.  Now I find out that the purchase method is out-dated and the acquisition method is now used.  What are the main differences between the two

(Please no comments about how i shouldn't be using outdated materials....I also have wiley 2010 for reference, but I find it helpful to watch becker lectures first. :) Thanks. :) )

IMO don't waste your time focusing on the differences between purchase and acquisition. Though they are not that different, the differences can trip you up. Study the acquisition method as if you'd never studied consolidations before; this is the best way to pick up the material.

Oh, and you shouldn't be using outdated materials. :-P

Dang it.  I'm just going to figure it out in Wiley.  UGH.  So POed I watched that entire lecture in Becker.
