I am using becker 2011,
i started in september, and I am spending too much time of
each F.I am not gaining the confidence unless i read the
bok, listen to lecture and do all the questions once.
I have spent an averae of 10 days on each F.
i study 4 hours approx each day.

that would take me 3 months to just study the material
once.If i spend 2 days each F , for revision then that
means an extra 3 weeks for revision.I will need one wek
for all the sims and final exams and final revision

I only have 3 months for FAR, can anyone please suggest
how to study faster?

thanks.

I just took FAR on 8/31 and got a 79 using Becker.

For me, the videos of Peter and Tim did not provide much added value, as they mostly just read the book to you.  I don't like lectures, so I just read the transcription at the bottom and fast-forwarded through the lectures. Plus there's the marked-up version of the text with their highlights and liner notes available in the software, so I didn't take the time to mark up my book.

I read the book carefully, went through the hw problems once (until I got them all right, of course), but I studied all their answer explanations until I was comfortable with the concept, and if I got a question wrong, I traced underlying concept to the text and studied it until I mastered it.

It also took me a while to read the lectures and finish the problems, and the perseverance was tough, but I minimized my distractions - I studied at home, switched off my internet connection, and put my cell phone on silent.

I underestimated the importance of IFRS on the exam, and it hurt my score.  Know IFRS!  I got several FAR questions from the F1 & F2 IFRS material, and I hadn't read that part of the lectures very closely.  My mistake! Know IFRS well.

I went through all the homework questions and simulations once, but for my final review I didn't redo all the hw questions and I didn't do the practice exams.  I just spent several days re-reading the book, and I wish I had spent more time re-reading it.  On the exam, I only found a couple of questions that were similar to Becker's hw questions.

I started studying in the middle of June while working a regular 8am-6pm job.  Be strict and spend 1 week per lecture, including hw questions.
