So here is my situation.  I passed the exam in Michigan but I live in Illinois since I couldnt find a job in Michigan (no surpise there).  I'd like to transfer my CPA grades to Illinois but I dont think i'll be able to b/c in IL you need to have 150 credits completed prior to sitting for the 1st section.  In MI, you dont' need 150 credits to sit and I did not have 150 credits when I took the 1st section, but I completed 150 credits by the time I passed the last section.  I don't think this will make a difference though.

So I think the only option is to get my license for MI and then transfer my license to IL.  Now the requirements to be licensed in IL and MI are similar meaning you need 150 credits completed and you need 2000 hours of relevant experience.

I may have landed an audit position in IL that starts this summer, and assuming the hours I work there are considered "relevant experience", will those hours count towards the 2000 hour requirement to be licensed in MI?  I believe it should since it is still relevant experience, and nowhere does it does it say you need to gain the experience in the same state where you sat for the exam.

So assuming those hours I work in IL are considered relevant experience and I gain 2000 hours, and then apply for my MI license and they approve it, would I be able to transfer my MI license to IL?

I just got my MI license recently.  I don't know the answer to your question, but the person below might be able to help you:
