I work in CA office which I report to my boss who's currently hold an active CPA license in another state. If I pass the CPA exam and I ask him to certify me, would I be able to get my license in CA. If you know the answer, please respond.

Probably yes. But see the information at this link: http://www.dca.ca.gov/cba/publications/applbook.pdf. To make sure, also ask the California Board directly.

I think out of state experience has to be documented in detail, whereas in-state experience, all the CPA has to do is sign a form.
