I passed the CPA exam in TN when it was a 2-tier system. I did not pay for the "Wall Certificate" b/c it cost $100, and I was flat broke. But I thought I still had certification (just not the experience that would get me the "permit" so I could call myself a CPA).
I went on to graduate school.... then TN changed the law to a 1-Tier system and had a grandfathering clause saying that anyone holding a certificate would be grandfathered in as a CPA w/o the work experience.
I was told I didn't qualify b/c I didn't pay for the Wall Certificate!!
That doesn't sound right.
Has this happened to anyone else here? Please let me hear from you. |

File an appeal with the board or, contact with TN State CPA society. they should be able to guide you.
