Hi everyone,

I recently received my CPA license with the State of NH. I do not live in NH and I am an employee with a CPA firm in FL. Can I use the CPA designation behind my name, for example on the company business card, work e-mails..etc?

Also, my spouse is in the US army and we'll be moving out of FL when he returns from Korea the end of this year. Chances are we'll be moving every 3 years. Do I have to get a new license for every State I live in? Or can I just continue to renew with NH and still use the CPA designation? (I don't intend to practise on my own any time soon).

I would really appreciation feedback on this. Thanks!

I am not an expert but here is what I know

If you are not going to practise on your own (issuing reports under your name) but work at a CPA firm instead, then I dont think you need to get a license from the state that your firm is located. Your NH license should be fine.

However NH is not a 2 tier state. So, in order to be able to use your designation (in your business card, emails.etc) you need to keep your license and renew it as needed (and meet CPE requirements etc).
