My immediate supervisor is a licensed CPA, but he does not keep it active (and neither do most CPA's that I know that are not working in public accounting firms). Has anyone else had this problem? Can he sign off on my experience requirement even though he is not active? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In CA, he can't

"general accounting experience supervised by a CPA with an active license"
