Looks like VA requires 1 year of Public/Private accounting experience. Although your supervisor can be Non CPA  but it has to be verified by CPA. Also I do not think VA gives just certificate for CPA. I didnot find that separately. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong.

My opinion, since you do not have work authorization yet, just do not worry about the certificate/license right now, unless a company is ready to file your H1B. I would say just focus on your studies and pass the CPA exam. Click on below link for more information regarding VA licensing requirements.

Nishvik,

Most states do not need work experience to sit for CPA exam, However, work experience will be needed when you apply for a license.

Regarding SSN, I have no idea. I would say just call to VA board and find out if that is required. I have read here on this forum that many candidates from India apply through Colorado board, you  may want to check that.

I have an MBA from US.
