I really need help on this one. I have passed all parts of cpa exams on 09/23/2010 and I have submited my application to NJ Board for license on 11/02/2010. I have more than one year experience and I met 150 credits. However, NJ board holding my application more than 3 months and I am tired of calling each month. How long it takes to get approval from NJ Accountancy board? How do I know if I get approval from the board? Please provide me information--I don't know what to do---Thank you all

What ever happenned with your application process?  I'm in the same boat you are.  I passed 11/23 and did not wait for my congrats letter.  Just sent it my application...called these rude people at the NJ State Board, which didn't even bother to help me.

Thanks....

I don't know if my case would be similar or not, but I'll pass along the info I was told.  I'm in SC and found out I passed in December.  I called the SC State Board to find out if I needed to wait for a congratulatory package or just go ahead and send everything in.  I was told that they had not received official scores and wouldn't until January.  Then on January 25th, the Board would vote the new members in and the package would then be sent out.  Could be similar for other states.

Similiar to NJ...........

I called NASBA and they said they would release the scores to the State Board by Feb. 15.  I guess at that time, the process starts (the congratulatory letter, application process, etc.)

Unbelievable how archaic the process still is.  Amazing that the AICPA, NASBA and the State Boards of Accountancy are not on the same page in terms of timelines and getting business done in an expeidient manner.

Passing the exam is not the only challenge........its the nonsense and frustration you have to deal with in getting some sense of professional courtesies from people working in those organizations that is also a battle.

more to come...........good luck

I got my congratulatory letter today from CPA Examination Services on  behalf of the NJ State Board of Accountancy.  The letter says that in the next few weeks they will send me instructions for licensure!!  I sent the application in over a month ago.  I didn't want to wait to get the instructions because at this pace, it would take 3 more months to get my license.

Not sure if I should call the State Boards to ask what else is required at this point, last time I called for guidance, they almost ripped my head off when I asked why the process took soo long!!!

Any guidance would be appreciated from those that have gone through this in NJ!!

Thanks!!
