I am from India passed CA(Inter) & M.Com.-1(internally).

I have relative near Boston,Massachusetts,USA.

1) Can I select my state board MA and if after clearing CPA without license, Can I do/seek job in anyother state of US ?

2) Can I do job w/o license in MA itself ?

3) Which state generally student from India/other country choose  ?

It is not that all Indian students prefer one particular state in US. It depends on your educational background.

For example: Colorado state accepts CA membership certificate. Therefore I think most CA's having membership certificate prefer Colorado as they do not require to take any additional courses.

I am sure you are also aware of the fact that CPA is computer based test. Hence you can apply for CPA in one state where you meet all the requirements and take exam anywhere in US.

Based on my experience yes you can work w/o license once you pass all four parts of CPA. However you cannot sign any document or call yourself CPA unless you have license. You can mention on your resume that "you have cleared all four parts of CPA"

Hope the above information helps.

Anybody can correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Paras,

Usually you can apply through any state if you have your B.Com and M.com part 1 passed, because that can be considered as 4 years education, hopefully. For licensure purpose You might have to fulfill certain other requirements.

I am also B.Com and CA from Ahmedabad.Which part are you from.

If possible can you do me a favor my friend. I need syllabus for inter CA which I passed during 1990 to 1993.Can you email it to me if possible or you can guide me in getting that one, I tried online but its not available on ICAI website I will appreciate your help greatly.

Thanks

Today, I have tried to send my original educational scripts for credential evaluation  for doing CPA from Colorado board to FACS USA on his mailing address available on his website i.e. " FACS,Inc. P.O.Box 400 Glen Carbon, IL 62034 USA" through a blue chip courier company " Aramax" but they refused to deliver it  on the P.O.Box no. hence they have requested me to provide them a detailed address of  the "FACS" .  If anbody is having detailed address of Facsusa please mail or share with me if he has faced similer problem and resolved it. As I am sending my original educational scripts hence I can not take risk to deliver my parcel in the P.O.Box.

Regards!

Hi Sukhvinder jit,

I don't have the address but I think attested photocopy of your transcrips will work. You can call colorado board or email to ask about this.I am chartered accountant so i didnot need to evaluate my credentials.I sent attested copy of membership certificate and that worked for me.
