Hello everyone, im new to this forum and i find it very helpful as i was reading the topics. Anyway, i have my 4 year BS Accountancy degree outside the US and im planning to take my CPA exam next year, 2009.

1. I dont have any books yet or exam materials. Please recommend a good CPA review books/materials.

2. Is is ok to self study? or would u recommend that i will attend review courses?

3. Im not familiar with US taxation yet. Any books that you can recommend?

hi.

I also got my degree outside the states. I am using the Becker materials, a bit more expensive than some of the others but they have an excellent reputation. You don't have to attend the review courses, must of them are just a rehash of the materials that you buy to study on your own. I don't think you will have to buy separable materials for tax, the review materials should be good enough as they usually cover the basics anyway.

could you give where to buy the becker review books? any website or is it available to any local bookstore. by the way, i live in TN now and i will take my CPA exam here.

Hi,

I got my degree out of US too. I am using GLEIM which i think is also very good in case you find BECKER too expensive. If you can afford BECKER,i have heard very good things about them and I guess will be worth a try.
