New to the board. 30 year old accountant with years of accounting experience but wife and I decided I should become a CPA because she wants to work part time and stay home with the kids. She's hoping I make more money:) Long story short, I am taking Becker right now and don't need advice on if anything else is better because it was darn expensive and I don't have the money to try another program. I might buy the flashcards.
I'm taking the courses one at a time and currently taking BEC in Phoenix. I have taken three sections, taking B4 Saturday and B5 Thursday. Then I'll either sit for the exam end of November or January
I really need some advice. You all seem smart in here. I felt like crying when taking B3 Saturday afternoon because it just seemed like so much that I don't ever remember from school. I graduated in 2003 and didn't look at an accounting book between now and two weeks ago. B1, about business types, I feel comfortable with but would like some advice on how to really study besides doing my Becker Homework, B2 has been ok and B3 I'm afraid to even look at.
Has anyone been in my situation? What have you done step by step?Any advice I could get would be invaluable. Should I read the chapters over? Buy the Becker flashcards? Listen to the lecture cds? How do you all fight the lazy feeling, the tv, and all that stuff? I guess I need some sort of a pep talk. Thanks so much.
