I knew I failed FAR right after I left the room, however when I finally saw the 70 on the email something happened. I stoped studying AUD and I started "thinking" not sure what. I swiched to study FAR "again" but this time slowly. I have been studying same lecture for almost 4 weeks and going nowhere. Read the lecture and dream away.

My goal was taking FAR and AUD this window, now I thinking just FAR. The bottonline is I am discoraged, sad, depressed. Everytime I see my Becker book I want to cry... seriously.

Please give me some advise or tips or clues, what's is wrong? is this natural? it is April-6 already and nothing is changing. I just look my book from distance and look at Prometric website and do nothing.

How did you get mentally ready for a second or third or fourth try?  ...I want to be a CPA I really do :(  :(

Set a testing date! I found that when I set a test date I was more motivated to get moving, finish studying and move on to the next section. Since you're so close on FAR set a date and get moving! Envision a passing score to keep on motivating yourself.

the becker book is extreamly confusing I believe.

The way I am getting around it is watching the lectures after I finish the chapter questions and taking a single section in the chaper at a time.

This makes my initial score on the homework somewhere in the 60's but I don't care, I read and re-read the questions till I understand it, then I watch the lectures.  It is only then that I know what the questions look like and can relate them to what I need to see on the exam.

Then, when I am done with the whole chapter, I re-do the homework problems again and score relativly well.  Then I move on, after 3 chapters, I go back and do the end of chapter homework from the previous chapters, so I dont' forget anything.

Hope that helps.  It's a nice way to continue to move ahead and also look behind.  It is taking longer than I wanted but thats fine with me, as long as I only have to do it once.

hey utesa,
i was wondering why are you not on the forum since long time, i am in the same boat as you are, i started this thing with lots of energy and of course there is no single subject that i passed on first time, i thought my FAR went really good, and i ended up at 74, the most horrifying score ever..but bottom line is will this keep you away from working hard. i cried for 2 days and was extremely depressed, but change is one thing that remains constant. so gotta move on. i always think about the sacrifices i have done for this and that keep me going. don't loose it, when things go worse, there is a sign which says "you luck is going to change", have faith in yourself. Ants never give up, they keep falling but still reaches the wall. good luck.

As Megnzay right said above, schedule a date for the exam.

Drop F5 for now and revise some other chapter to give yourself a break otherwise you would be only dreaming off again and again. It happens. So, do the rest of the chapters and then come back to F5.

Moreover, just believe in yourself and if you really want to become a CPA, study with vengeance and a smile on your face.

Usually, I relax back on the couch with coffee on one side and book in my lap and laptop on the other side. Enjoy your study. Don't take it as a burden.

utesa, you deserve to be a CPA, you deserve to be successful. say these magic words to yourself again & again. if you love listening to music, you can always put it on whenever u r doing mcqs. Believe me, it gets you back in action. After a while, my mind only focuses upon mcqs. I don't even remember which song is going on.....

And, moreover, keep following this forum.. You would feel that you are not alone. Many people are in the same boat. The way they study, the experiences they share would always motivate you :)

So, say good bye to depression, discouragement, sadness !!!

Welcome happiness, success, hardwork and lots and lots of encouragment. Your cpaforum teammates are always with you, utesa.... :-)
