I am in Texas and it require "state approved" ethic course to be able to sit on the exam. so i am considering to be certified from another state to avoid taking ethics course now ( I got all of my accounting hours etc.) Do i need to physically take exam at whichever state i apply or could i take the exam in texas test centers and transfer my score to another state? |

Unless you are going to move to the state you're to be licensed in, I suggest you find the course to take the ethics exam. If Texas is like Florida, you cannot call yourself a CPA in the state if you are not licensed in the state. That means, you cannot print "CPA" on correspondence or any form of advertisement(oral or written). You cannot certify nor sign off on any documents within the state. Even putting "CPA" in your email signature could cause a problem. Again, I don't know if Texas is like that but I know Florida is.
