I am new to the forum. I am appreciated any advice on my question about 36 semester hours in accouting courses. I graduated with BA in accouting major last fall, and until recently I 've decided to study for the CPA exam. I meet the requirments of 150 credits but not the 36 credits in upper level accouting courses. I got only 24 hrs in upper level of accouting courses from my BA degree. I am now planning to take additional accouting courses while studying for the exam. (I don't plan for the master degree). My concern is as a non-degree seeking student, can I take undergraduate (upper level) accounting courses or do I have to take graduate accounting course? I remember some of my friends in the college planned for the CPA exam (much earlier than me) decided to hold back their graduation and studied for the 5th yr to meet the CPA requirement because tuition for undegraduate courses would be cheaper. I really wish I did the same.

I was actually admitted to a local university to take the accounting courses I need and you can register for undergraduate accounting courses. But, you will need to contact the Accounting Department in the Business School where you want to go because they will have to add you manually.

It's probably too late to get in this summer. You will have to probably start in the fall. Applications for non-degree seeking students are due almost two months before the summer semester is set to start. Or, if you take classes through Louisiana State University Online, you may be able to start any time.

Enroll as a second-degree student and take those undergraduate courses. I am sure you will be charged UG tuition
