I didn't pass BEC and now am finding it so hard to pick it back up. Am planning to resit the second week in January, but i have lost about 3 days of study because am just not focusing on the material (becker 2009) am studying but it just not getting anywhere.

For those that have not pass on the first go how do you re-study for this again.

any suggests would be great.

Yaeger Cram 100 bucks...helped me out with around 5 questions on the test, for sure... I would highly recommend it.. I'm sure it'll be enough to put you over the top..

Aside from that - You need to prepare yourself mentally for the challenge.. instead of telling yourself how bad your life sucks (which i did every other second during my study time) tell yourself your going to buckle down and just do it.. at any cost.. stop going out on weekends, wake up an extra hour early to study, study on your lunchbreak rather than going to lunch with friends, etc, etc.. without these huge sacrifices, i could not get this thing done.. no simple way.. in my opinion.. wishing you the best of luck.

I find that mapping the study schedule out on a calendar really helps me cover ground on this.  With out the study schedule mapped out, I drift.  I study, but without intensity.  And it takes weeks to get through a chapter instead of 3 days. 

Here are my strategies: 

• get your study program on a calendar and vow to stay on schedule. 
• Your schedule should include time to reread all chapters and redo all the problems the last 2 weeks before the test.
• I don't know your study habits, but I've always passed when I outlined the chapters, took copious notes (by hand).  Sometimes I never review these notes, but just making them gets me 15% higher scores on the homework.
• I've always read that you need to start the whole program over.  Don't just focus on what your diagnostics report says were your weak points.
• Do cost accounting first, then financial accounting second.  Then do business struture and econ - at the same time, keep working problems from cost and financial so you retain the material.  You have to have cost/financial/IT dialed in to pass this exam.
• Do IT last, preferably right before the test - when your short term memory works best.  This section is definitions/concepts only, but 25% of the test.
• Look at your review materials.  They may not be sufficient to prep you for this exam.  Look into other programs, read the posts on this website to see what other people are saying about them.  If you are having problems with cost or finance accounting, don't use Becker.  Becker's reveiw of cost accounting is weak.

Thanks everyone for you suggests. I start studying with Wiley and Yeager along with gliem and beaker question, i plan to set on the 20 of this month almost done with cost in Wiley, hopefully this will give me the extra push i need to pass.
