I currently work in a CPA firm and tax season is upon us. I commute one hour each way to work and as you can see by my scores, I am not making progress on my exams. This year has been full of stress as my mother has had 8 surgeries in the last 12 months. I have diligently studied but it obviously has not been enough to make the cut. FAR is scheduled for 2/9/10 and I'm wondering if I should even show up and attempt the exam. I am not giving up but I know I haven't put in the time for this section due to Mom's last two surgeries. Should I show up just for the experience of taking FAR? Or, should I let the date come and go and re-apply when I'm rested and more prepared? My husband says I should take a year off to re-group but I know that I would just spend the whole year feeling like I'm wasting time. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Take the test, move it to the end of the month if you have to. You should also get some audio cd's to listen to on your commutes. I know Gleim has some.

I have the Wiley Impact audio CD's and I listen to them faithfully every morning and evening during my commute. I also listen to them during the day at work if I am not at an audit or in a meeting. I'm just not getting alot of booktime and I know that's going to be a problem. I still have 4 weeks to go so maybe I can pull it out of the fire. Thanks!

Do not let the date come and go because when you take the exam you will know the questions on the exam and that might help you the next time you take the exam. Also, the questions might be what you can handle and that will enable you to pass.

Thanks NanaBa. I will show up and hope for the best. Who knows...the luck of the draw may be on my side that day.
