Anyone else struggling to fit it all in? I am working about 50 hours a week, have 3 kids and a husband - they all do their best to support me - but cannot seem to keep on a studying schedule since the work started piling up @ the firm. Any tip would help - 2 of the kids are teens and the last one is a 3 year old, if that matters with your advice. Thanks in advance!

Hey anmore,
I passed my exams with a job, a jerk for a boss and a very supportive family (two kids).
The key is not to stress out and keep one thing in mind that not everything will be in your control.
Delegate whatever you can and try to study at least two hours a day to be on schedule. There will be some days where you can't study at all be prepared to take that in your stride as well.
Keep moving forward a step at a time, show your kids by example you can do anything you decide to do.
All the best.

I'm RIGHT there with ya! 2 little ones at home plus a full time+ job in the demanding field of Derivatives Accounting. It is so tough trying to balance it all. My 5 yr old has been drawing stick pics of me studying at the computer --- what must his teachers think?

It will all be worth it in the end. Sometimes I think my family/job brings me more motivation to pass.

To annmore and all working mothers trying to study for exam.

I'm taking my first exam (BEC) next month and I'm already stressed out. I'm trying to manage this stress though. I know how difficult it is to juggle just work and family (i have 2 kids - 11 yrs and 2 yrs old), leave study for CPA exams alone. However, this is one of the best things we can do for ourselves and our children. We can teach them the importance of personal achievement, self-respect and making right choices. Keep up with your study plan and stay focused. This is my schedule:

6 -7 am  study while kids are asleep;

8:30 - 9 am  study on the train on the way to work

1:30-2:15  study during lunch break

5:30 - 7:30  library

7:30 - 8:30  evening commute / study.

On Saturdays I try to put in more hours. Remember, it's better to use that short time slots every day and train your brain than do the last week cram. Also, embrace the change in your schedule. Admit that you can't control everything and do your best with the things you can control. Good luck!
