I work in a Big 4 company in the Caribbean. I currently applied to take my CPA in New Hampshire, due to the fact that I do not have 150 credits to sit in any of the other states. However, my boss is not a CPA and therefore will not be able to sign my work experience, therefore I need to obtain work experience from a CPA in the US. I would like to know whether it would be better to get a Macc to obtain enough credits to tranfer my license to another state so that I am more marketable in other states or should I try to obtain job with just passing the CPA exam?

Side note I do not have a bachelors in accounting, however I took more than 12 credits in accounting, therefore eligable to write the CPA exam in NH.

Depends where you are living. Are there good MACC programs in the Caribbean. I was actually thinking of moving there for a position also if they have any other offshore jobs. But right now they only want seniors. I was thinking fund administration was a possibility.

You should just try to earn the credits somewhere else since your already in big 4. Whey are you applying to NH? Maine is cheaper application fee.

If you can't find a good Macc program in the Caribbean, consider doing one online.

There are no Macc in the Caribbean...unfortunately....and the pay for Big 4 in the caribbean are only good in certain islands...I was hoping to move to another island or back to the US...

and allegro-cpa.. I registered in NH due to the fact I dont have 150 credits and didnt have enough credits for the other states yet.

Maine you don't have to have 150 until you eventually get the credits, just like NH. The application fee is like 60 bucks cheaper, why would you waste 60 dollars? Just trying to save you a dollar man. On a side note, have you ever thought about working in the Cayman Is? If texas does not work, I am moving to the Cayman Islands for an accounting job. Yeah, its far away from Pennsylvania where I am now. I want that tax free income. Plus you live on a beautiful island.
