Is there anyone else out there who is working part time, preparing for the CPA exam, AND looking for full-time employment? I have been having an anxiety attack for 24 hours straight about my situation as the reality of it started sinking in. If anyone else is or has been in the same boat and has advice, I'd very much appreciate it!

Reality check:

Are you raising preschoolers and/or teenagers? (-5 points)

Do you have a "significant other" who is covering at least half of the household expenses? (+7 points)

Have you gotten a professional critique of your resume and cover letters and/or are you using professional resume maker software? (+10 points for the best $20 program you will ever buy)

Are the rent, utility bills, and car payment still current? (+5 points)

Are you selling fast food/delivering pizzas (-4 points) or working in an office? (+4 points)

Is your part-time job a seasonal or short-term position? (-8 points)  If so, are you already registered with all the temp agencies in town? (+3 points)

Are you working for a CPA who can sign off your work experience as soon as you pass the last exam section? (+10 points)

Have you already passed some exam sections? (+5 points each for one or two, +20 points for three)

Will any of your already-passed exam scores be 18 months old in the current testing window? (-7 points)

Do you make time to go to church on Sunday mornings and get your perspective-check button reset? (+7 points)

Do you take one night off each week and just chill out doing something mindless? (+6 points)

That should be a start...
