Hi guys, I am planning to take the CPA exams next yr. I am thinking of taking BEC first. Can anyone tell me how many questions I need to answer in 2.5 hrs? I mean how many multichoice questions? I think there will be 3 essays right? How is the time allocated? I mean total 2.5hrs for both or separate time allocation for multichoice question and essays.

BEC will be 3hrs in 2011 due to the addition of the 3 essays. there will still be 3 mutiple choice testlets with 30 questions each. thanks! the mutiple choice didn't seem too difficult but i found the simulations to be very challenging. i would say it was a pretty even mixture of calc and theory questions. there were 3 testlets with 30 questions each and 2 simulations. the format of FAR will be different in 2011 however. no more written communications since those have been moved to BEC and there will be 7 smaller task-based simulations as opposed to 2 large simulations.
