I was hoping someone could help me out with this one.

I didn't major in accounting in undergrad (I was a Political Science major, but minored in acct.). I've ultimately decided after graduation that I want to pursue a Masters in Accounting. There are only so many schools that allow non-acct. majors to enroll without taking a ton of prerequisite courses prior to matriculation, including NC State, Wake Forest, UNC, UVA, William & Mary, USC, etc.

I'm focusing on applying to WFU because I live near there and they have an option for a 10 month internship during their program that would help with securing a full time position prior to graduation. I'm wondering how Big 4 firms handle location preference regarding internship applications. If I were going to WFU in North Carolina and wanted to intern in an office in another part of the country, would that be an issue? Is it simply based on whether a certain office has enough space or do they prefer you to intern close to your school's location?

Although going to a school in the southeast is the most convenient for me (especially financially, not to mention there are only so many Macc programs for non acct. majors), I'd rather not work in this area. Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know I am
ressurecting a thread
from a while ago, but
hopefully this helps
someone if not
necessarily the op.
if you are in a
program of Wake's
caliber, picking your
location should be
easy. Just be able to
tell the recruiters
and interviewers why
you want to go for a
particular city and
have a compelling
reason (s.) You can
go to NYC, Chicago,
San Fran, wherever
from Wake assuming
you are a strong
candidate in other
aspects.
