Hey all, I'm making great progress with the CPA exam, as I am half way there!  I'm hoping to get into a big four accounting firm when I'm finished with the exam.  The only problem is my college GPA is poor(2.8).  Is there still hope I can get into the big four if I score well on the CPA or does this GPA instantly eliminate me?  Any insight/suggestions?

Thanks !

I think most look for at least 3.0 or above...however if you have CPA after your name, I think they'd be hard to turn you away.

The GPA doesn't help, but seriously a large part of working for a big 4 is communication skills.  You can be a 4.0 student but if you're a recluse and don't know how to talk to people then working in a big CPA firm probably isn't going to be for you.  Attend some of their on campus functions and just talk to people.  They will be much more likely to grant you an interview after talking to them than if you just submit your resume to them.
