hi everyone,

like the title says, do you guys have any advice for me for my big 4 interviews? i was really excited to get 3 first rounders with them. however, i just had one earlier today and i dont feel like it went to well, so an office visit seem unlikely at this point. however, i still have interviews with 2 more of them,  one tomorrow and the other thursday. any advice as for what questions to expect (im planning on mostly behavioral), what questions to ask them, how to follow up, etc.? thanks a lot, your answers will be much appreciated.

Just be yourself. I have no idea what they base their decision on. I had 4 first round interviews including three with big 4 firms and have only one 2nd round with a big 4. One of the big four firms picked an English major with no accounting background over me because she was extremely personable (I have in a MST and passed the CPA). Doesn't matter if you nail all the questions; you have to get the interviewer to like you.

yeah i actually think im just gonna be myself and see what happens. the one i had today actually went pretty well. but im still not sure if im gonna get the second round. i realized tho that if they dont want me, it probably wouldnt have been a good fit anyway. thanks for your response btw. how was your 2nd rounder? is it behavioral again?

http://www.cpanet.com/cpa_forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=19352&am p;PN=2 there has been several topics like that. I'd say be a better, brighter and more confident self. :) Come up with a little spiel about what makes you stand out and why you'd be a good fit for the firm/the firm would be a good fit for you. be prepared for team work, multitasking and work under pressure behavioral questions.

I think that I would say is think about what makes you so much better than other candidates. If you got invited for first round interviews you must be doing pretty good in your classes. So think about what you do in those classes to do better than your classmates. Than extrapolate on that and sell behavior to the interviewer. Even if you don't do better than a lot of the students in your classes, you can still use this. I personally think that a lot of A students don't understand accounting, they just memorize how to get the right answer but they don't understand the whys and hows behind the answers.

Also, don't be so negative about your perceptions about the interviews. Unless they actually told you that you're not invited back, you still may be. I wasn't invited back where I thought I had my best interview and I think my best chances of getting an offer is where I had my worst interview.

Good luck to everyone in the middle of recruiting!!! Let's get em!
