So I went to a community college for my AA which is now closed. I have the
original transcripts but they aren't official because it's not in an envelope. At
the recruiting event they requested to have all unofficial transcripts for any
college you attended. Well I have those but wouldn't they request for your
official transcripts in the future to verify everything is authentic or do they
not worry about it?
How many firms actually request official transcripts?

Once you're hired I imagine HR might want an official copy of your transcripts on file. I doubt they'll need more than just the transcripts to which your highest degree is posted.

This may not be the case, but my University has a copy of my junior college transcripts, and they are lumped in with my University transcripts. I would assume your 4-year university would have yours lumped in as well since I'm sure they required a copy when you transferred in. I've only been asked for my transcripts once on an interview. I brought an official, sealed copy, however I think unofficial may have done the trick.

If they are like my firm then they will run a full background check when you are hired and the third party company that they hire to run the background check will request that you tell your school to release your information to them. In theory this would uncover all discrepancies between the grades that someone shows that they earned on their "unofficial transcripts" with what they actually earned.

Unofficial is good. Official bachelor's is only needed after you get the offer.
