Hey everyone,
Long story short, but I just started in Internal Auditing and I wanted to go into the IT side of advisory, but I had done way to much recruiting with Internal auditing. This was back last year when the economy was getting bad so I wanted to give myself the best chance to land a job in a firm I wanted. I basically chose practicality of chances over what I really wanted. I don't mind Internal Auditing, but I really miss all the technical talk that the IT people do (I don't know programming but I love computers).
Now I was wondering the specifics regarding such a move. I hear its possible once I work for at least 2 years. Is this true? Also, since the field change is completely different, would I technically be demoted? As in, at the end of 2-3 years, I should be a senior, so if I were to transition to IT, would I technically be put back as an associate (in title and pay)?
Thanks everyone!
