The Big 4 are coming to my campus this Fall for an accounting career fair followed by campus interviews at later dates.  Last year during the fair, I was referred to the head recruiters because my resume made the cut (brand name school, high GPA, 150 credit hours, finance background, planned to take CPA exam, etc.).  They were all interested but I've never heard back from any of them after the event.  How do you guys score your interviews?  I don't have problem getting internship at the regional, 2nd tier PA but don't have any luck with the Big 4.  Any advice?  Thanks!

Not really too sure how I scored mine.  I didn't go to a big university, but I did go to a highly rated private school.  Unfortunately the Big 4 didn't come to my school to recruit.  I sent my resume to the big university down the road, who then submitted it to the big 4.  At the time I didn't have 150 credits, but I was working on it.  I had a high GPA and a double major.

At the time I did know a senior working at the Big 4 firm I wanted to get in with.  I don't know if he put a good word in, but it couldn't have hurt.

They didn't recruit at my school, so I emailed my resume to the recruiting manager (found her email on the website). I was super surprised when it actually turned into an interview.

Don't ask, don't get right! Whats the worst they can do? Ignore you or say no?

I find it funny that I was rejected by other small firms but the Big 4 said yes.

What i found the most helpful back when i first applied for Big 4 was the Numbers Game. I, also, talked to many recruiters, charmed and wooed them with delightful conversations but there's just too many people they have to talk to. Even though, they'll take your resume on the spot, its covered under piles and piles of paper.

My suggestion; 1st) get their email or business card and start the online rapport.

2) this is the most important step where all the recruiters going to tell you, SUBMIT YOUR RESUME ONLINE AND VIA SCHOOL CAREER CENTER DATA to get your on campus interview. That's going to be the most important step. You better make your schoool's career development center profile as deisel as possible!

And the 3) Pray. That's about it. Most of my friends who get the on campus interviews didn't even go to career fair. All ONLINE.
