I'll be starting at E&Y in tax this fall so I'm no where near that stage in my
career... But I was wondering if anyone else who works in tax went to law
school because the firm wanted you to (and paid for it). Or how is this
viewed by the firm? Do they care? Do they not care? I finished my MBA and
plan on doing the CPA exam in the fall / spring and to be promoted you
need your CPA (which hopefully I'll have) or a J.D. I definitely think a J.D. is
beneficial even with a CPA but just wanted to know other's thought. Thanks!

If you are in tax, they only pay for your tax courses. You can only purse tax master if you want them to pay for your tuition. They don't even pay for MBA.
