Of all the Big 4 business cards I have received, there are never any certifications after the name like John Smith, CPA.  Why is this?  Is it because they operate in different states?  All the other national and regional firms display their credientials.  Just curious.

some states it is illegal for the person to put CPA if you are not practicing in that state.

big 4 employees goes everywhere, so to avoid legal liability CPA is not put on the business card.

Also because some people have certain credentials (none,
CPA,
CISA, JD, etc) and some have varying educational
backgrounds (BA/BS, MA, MBA, etc).

It is for the purpose of having a unified presentation of
names for the firm. It is a professional firm. Therefore
everyone is a professional. We don't differentiate who has
what credential unless it is finding specifics skills for
specific engagements.
