How much vacation time do accountants usually get in the first year.
I found out I don't get any. I accrue monthly so that at the end of the fiscal year I get two weeks that I can use in the second year. If I leave beforehand I lose it. It then takes 10 years to start to accrue at 3 weeks. I guess it then takes 11 years to actually use it. I work at a small firm, but they told me that that is how it is at the big firms too, at least the no vacation the first year thing.
In the private sectors I started to accrue right away, but I was told this is rare, that places such as Google don't give any the first year either. Was I spoiled?
I am just wondering how this compares to others. Is this information correct?

I started at Deloitte, and we have 5 weeks of vacation in addition to Holidays..not too shabby ;) But it's the least they can do with the slave hours you put in..
