Hi,
Has anyone here ever jumped to a hedge fund or banking job after a few
years at the big 4? I am assuming it must have been from big 4 financial
services audit. Can you elaborate mainly on your compensation, work life
flexibility and promotions, etc? Thank you!!

You're going to have to be more specific. There are so many different type of positions within hedge funds and banks. Are you talking about front office or back office?

I'm referring to more back office roles like senior fund accountant, fund
controllers, etc. I've been reading stories on goingconcern.com where
people leave after senior 2 to hedge fund senior accountant roles where they
make twice the senior 2 money in their first year out.

Ahh I see. I've personally never done it, but I've had multiple recruiters call me about fund accountant positions but I always turned it down. I'm not in the FS industry but I've been told that FS experience and CPA is HIGHLY preferred. I don't really know too much beyond that. But if you look on indeed.com, there are a ton of fund accountant positions that are asking for Big 4 experience (usually 2+). I don't think making 2x is realistically, but I think 65k-75k wouldn't be completely outrageous. Sorry can't be much help. I know more about switching to FO banking positions than anything. From I remember, you haven't started your Big 4 position yet have you?
