Hey guys- does anyone know, or has anyone had experience
with, the way in which tuition assistance works for the big
4 firms in general? For the most part, I assume that you
cannot get tuition assistance/reimbursement until after you
start? Or is it possible to get it after you sign on but
before you actually begin work? If anyone has taken
advantage of it, did you use it to complete a degree, get
an additional certification, etc? Thanks

Good question.. I am pretty sure PwC will reimburse you $5,250 if you accept
an offer of employment with them, even if you start after you obtain the
degree. Not sure though.

Dont think you can use tuition assistance for anything that precludes the CPA. 5250 sounds about right if you get it approved.

5250 is the tax-free IRS limit, and while I don't work at PWC, I'm pretty sure they don't have any reimbursement for Audit and many of the advisory lines. More Stat. type Consulting may and tax might for a Mtax, but basically the firms expect you to arrive with your terminal degree. MBA degrees are usually a way out of public, so why would they pay to give you the tools to leave, the profession doesn't value it (that said I have heard rumors of high performers being reimbursed if they offer a 3 year-post graduation commitment, but never seen it in practice). Other degrees are generally expected to be earned before you are hired and thus not reimbursed...
