I have a semester left to graduate with my BS in Accounting from the University of South Florida. I hope to squeeze out a 2.9* overall GPA, 3.4 upper level, and 3.2 accounting GPA. I plan on enrolling in the USF or University of Florida Macc program to earn my CPA license in the Spring of 2013. I also plan on joining BAP. I know I am on the low side of the GPA requirments but what are my chances looking like to get into ANY PA jobs or big 4 in 2013? Also will going to UF or USF make a big difference besides paying extra living expenses at UF?

First off, be careful when you say "licensed." I'm not
sure of your situation but you need 1 year (in most
states) of experience under a CPA + the exams passed to
be a "licensed" CPA.
For the big 4 chances - it depends on how you do in the
Macc (GPA mainly - shoot for 3.6+). Joining BAPsi is
great - I would try for an officer position and also
other organizations that may not take a great deal of
time, but are great resume boosters. Leave off the
undergrad GPA and post a high grad GPA. If they ask
about undergrad, have a decent story.
Not sure about UF vs USF. Reach out to the firms at every
opportunity and google this forum for how to network

Is there a way you can increase your GPA to above a 3.0? My friend applied to USF with a 2.9 and a decent GMAT score (~600ish) and he was rejected.
