Hi all,

I have learned so much by reading through these forums over the years but I have never posted anything so here goes.

I accepted an offer to work as tax intern with KPMG in their New York office for Summer 2012 and they have asked me which Industry group I would prefer to be placed with. They presented me with the following choices:
--         &nbs p;      Financial Services- Real Estate

·       Financial Services- Global Banking

·       Financial Services- Asset Management

·       Financial Services-Insurance

·       Consumer Markets and Industrial Products

·       Accounting Methods and Credits Services

·       State and Local Tax

I have been leaning towards Financial Services- Real Estate, but thats only because I have taken some courses about real estate law and know a bit about REITs. Otherwise I am a bit in the dark.

I would love to get some advice about which industry group would add the most to my professional development and skill set. As well as which group has the most potential for growth: in general and for an individual wanting to move up within a firm.

Thanks so much for your input.

Basing my opinion no prior experience I would say global
banking or consumer markets would be the most interesting.

Asset management is probably the most lucrative I think.

OP here,

Thanks for the input. I forgot to mention that they asked
me to list those options in order of my preference from
1 down to 7, knowing this would you have any further
advice? Also, is there any group that you would advise I
steer clear of?

Thanks again for the help.
