Hi,
I am a relatively recent graduate (June 2011) with
bachelor degree in Accounting& Finance, my GPA is 3.2 and
I know that figure is relatively low compare to Big4 min.
requirement. I am currently studying for my CPA exam and
looking to land a position at big 4 (that will be the
ideal situation).
I have 3 internships while I was in college, but none of
it was with public accounting firm. 2 of them are
bookkeeping position and 1 is an analysis position. I am
now 24, do I still have a chance landing a position at
Big4? If I do, what should I do to get an interview with
Big4? If I don't, what are the alternative solutions?
Thanks.....

Hey, I was in a similar situation. I graduated in 2009 from UCLA and took time off to travel. My gpa was a 3.352 which I was told repeatedly by the Big 4 is too low. I passed all my exams and landed an interview with a Big 4 firm. The key is to finish your CPA, you don't even have to do well, just pass it. But, really figure out if you like accounting because I'm in Audit and the lifestyle is ROUGH. We work 13-14 hours a day, 6 days a week. I barely have time to do my laundry... I wish I had looked into other firms, mid-tier, etc.
Good luck!
