Hi CPA people.  I have a question regarding the cost of study materials.  I was just wondering of what I expect to spend since I do not have a lot of money for it.

What the least expensive way to study for the exam?  I am also confused of all different brands of materials.  I was recommended Wiley and Becker for the exam.

Thank you so much in advance guys.

Becker is good but expensive.  I think its was worth it to me to finish at least 3 exams on the first try.  Depends on how much you want to spend, that will determine what type of material you will get.

I started with least expensive way to study for the cpa using Gleim books and mcq. However, it's taken me a lot of time to study because I had to self-learn many many concepts that I didn't know. Gleim, and I guess other unexpensive review materials, are good if you have a strong foundation and you just need to review the topics. It depends on your background and learning style. I would say chose carefuly before you start.

Good point!  I had the same experience with Gleim.  My college did not prepare me for these exams, and neither did Gleim.  I now use Gleim Test Prep AFTER I finish Yaeger.

I really appreciate for the help.  I feel informed a little better than yesterday.

How much is the becker cost?  $2000?  This is indeed expensive.  Is there any way around it at all?
