Hey guys!

I am sure you have heard this many times before....but I am pretty nervous to even start the CPA exam.

Today I received my course material from Beckers.  I am TOTALLY confused as to which sections to take first.

I have not even registered with NASBA yet because I am not sure how to study, how long it will take me to study, etc etc etc.

I work full-time at a public accounting firm and now that tax season in taking place...I have no time for anything.  However, I want to take the "easiest" section first...probably to boost my morale.

Do you guys have any suggestions, comments, tips, for me?  I really appreciate all the feedback!

BEC and AUD are the two easiest exams.  I would take AUD first since Becker does a better job with AUD that they do with BEC.

I will use Yaeger for BEC.  I am not impressed with Becker for BEC.

sister786,

There is no "magic order" to taking the CPA exams but you want to keep a few things in mind.

The AICPA BOE approved CBT-e last year meaning at some point, simlets and communications are coming to BEC. So you may want to get that section out of the way before it changes.

Additionally, because of the announcement that the US would adopt IFRS, you can expect HUGE changes to the Financial Accounting section at some point. May not be a bad idea to get that out of the way as well before it is completely revamped.

Neither of these changes will take place this year but it never hurts to be ahead of the game.

I believe AUD has a higher national pass rate than other sections so if you need the confidence boost you might want to go with that.

I usually recommend to our students that they take FAR first just so they get the big one out of the way....

I agree.  It takes the longest to prepare for FAR.  I took it first.  I am saving AUD for last.
