That's the route I went, except that I have Gleim '09. Worked pretty well for me. As long as you put in the time necessary for you to feel comfortable with your knowledge and performance, you'll be OK.
Here's how I studied for BEC using Becker & Gleim (and am studying for the other portions, too):
1) Complete the Becker course materials first unit by unit.
a) Read a unit in its entirety BEFORE watching the video lecture. b) Watch the video lecture and mark my pages *exactly* as the instructors say (mainly because that keeps me engaged in the lecture). c) Answer MCQs as they show up in the lecture. d) Take quizzes.
2) Work through the Gleim material.
a) Read each unit, skimming the parts I know well and slowing down to absorb those parts I don't know well or that Becker didn't cover in the same way. b) Answer the MCQs at the end of each unit. ALL of the MCQs, even the CMA and CIA questions. Some of these are way more difficult than you'll encounter on the BEC exam, but if you train yourself to think your way through these complex problems and understand your errors when you get one wrong, you'll have no problem with the actual exam.
3) Take the practice exams.
a) Take both Becker practice exams. b) If you have Gleim software, practice with testlet-length quizzes. I'd take three at a time and average my scores. Plus, I knock off five minutes from the average testlet time on the real exam (50 min.) and do thirty questions with a time limit of 45 min.
By exam time, I had a firm grip on the subject material and was well-practiced in answering exam-style questions in an exam-type environment.
But I've read quite a few other study strategies, too, so...whatever works for you.
