Well I write this in contemplation that Becker won't fix the problem which was created. Instead of focusing on assisting students to pass theexam, they much rather ravage them for every single $ they have.

I started my first course January 2010, then did a reschedule March 31. I took my second course ~ June 2010.

My next course was scheduled September 1 2010. I had an emergency surgery that needed to take place (in addition to a possible relocation), at which point I notified them for another reschedule. I have an email from them stating to send the documentation in. Post that email and a few other correspondence, I have another one saying everything was taken care of and not to worry about the documentation, that that the fees were waived, so I never sent it in. Guess I'll have to go dig up both the documentation AND the email now (which is hopefully still in my archives).

Now I come to find out when I was registering today for a course on Monday, that my courses expired and I need to pay 50% tuition enrollment, registration, and schedule fees; even after everything.

This is ludicrous. Not to sound like 'another ticked off internet guy' but if this doesn't get solved I think I'm going to blast every single internet forum, local news (they always love juicy pieces like this), and inform my accounting/business school-departmental ties about the true colors of Becker. Freedom of speech if I'm not mistaken.

Not a good way to run a business.

I am going to go out on a limb here and risk being the bad guy.

Everyone has emergencies.  We have all had deaths in the family, job layoffs, political attacks, and such upheavals and tragedies in our lives.  The entire community of CPA exam takers, here and abroad, goes through this and honestly no one person's life can be judged worse than another's.  There is always going to be a story worse than our own.  That's why I don't believe in using pressure to try to save money.  Life is what it is.  We deal with it and move on and keep trying to pass, no matter what.  That's what makes it all worth it in the end.
