I am using Yaeger Home Study 2011 and also have the 2011 CRAM. Are the updates that were effective July 2011 included in these DVDs? I don't know if I should even bother with the updates as they would be a very minor part of the exam.

During my studying, I always pause the video when a MC question is given and see if I can get the correct answer and normally I can because I just studied the topic. After finishing Module 36 I went back and did all of the min MC questions and got 84% of them correct. I'm just afraid that I'm memorizing the questions and answers without truly understanding the material. Anyone else running into this???

It's probably a concern most people have (wondering if you are memorizing answers).  Try using the Wiley testbank cd and do an exam.  That way random topics are thrown at you.  If you do well with those, I wouldn't worry.

I'm not too sure about how effective the Wiley software is. While the Law questions are challenging, I find a lot of the Tax questions to be a bit too easy. I took a set of 24 Tax questions the other day and got 22 out of 24 correct. And no, I'm not ready for the exam because I suspect that the real exam will be A LOT harder than these, especially after reading so many horror stories. The MCQs on the Wiley software are way too basic, which sounds ironic since their FAR and AUD questions are pretty tough. I probably should've invested in Gleim as I suspect they'd probably have more challenging questions, but oh well.

CPA#1 - You really improved your FAR and AUD scores! Did you switch to a different study program? I am using Yaeger Home Study. I have taken REG a few times but cannot pass it! I like Yaeger but REG has way too much material.... Any advice?

Last year, I use an in-class review course and did poorly. I then switched to Yaeger and got an increase in my FAR score, but still failed. This was not Yaeger's fault. I just didn't prepare well. I didn't devote 3 hours a night and got lazy at times. When I finally started to devote so much time into this, I finally was able to pass. Hence my big score boost on FAR and AUD. A review course like Yaeger or any other review course is only a good starting point. It's up to you to do the rest. Learn the concepts and practice practice practice by doing lots of multiple choice questions.

And I have to agree about REG. It's driving me off the wall. No matter how well I know a material and how much I try to study, there's always something new to learn everyday and there's always something they can trick you on in a questions. Less than two weeks before exam day and I'm panicking because I do not feel ready even though I put in over 240 hours of studying. It's insane. And what's worse, I don't feel prepared, but at the same time, I feel like I overstudied. Ugh!!
